The assessment was carried out by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen Herzi Halevi, along with IDF Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman and also hostage point-man Maj. Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon.

The bodies of the hostages were identified as:

  • Alexander Lobanov, 32
  • Almog Sarusi, 25
  • Eden Yerushalmi, 24

As per the autopsy done on Saturday night, there were signs that one of the hostages was tied up and there were signs of neglect. Additionally, there were also signs that these hostages were having injuries during or after their kidnap, and they were treated over time.

Current Status of Hostages

Currently, it is believed that around 97 of 251 hostages were abducted on October 7th are in Gaza. This count also includes at least 33 confirmed deaths, as per IDF.

As per the sources, it is also believed that the Hamas group also holds the bodies of the soldiers who were killed in 2014, and also Israeli civilians who entered Gaza in 2014 and 2015.
