After the destructive wind and torrential rains of the Krathon Typhoon, two more people were found to be dead in Taiwan. This has doubled the death toll.
This typhoon hit the island on Saturday and around 20,000 homes were without power. Mostly, the southern seaport city of Kaohsiung was badly affected during this typhoon.
Krathon has brought mudslides, floods, and a lot of strong gusts at a record level. All this happened because Krathon converted to a tropical depression, after hitting the island on Friday.
As per the reports from various sources, it is expected that around 700 people were injured.
In northern New Taipei city, two more missing people were found dead on Saturday. As per the National Fire Agency, the total death tolls so far has been 4, including these two deaths.
Many streets were flooded and in certain areas, there were landslides, temporarily blocking many students at the schools.
As per the information from the defence ministry, 250 soldiers were dispatched on Friday, to a city near Keelung. The soldiers helped clear the roads and also to drain the floodwater.
In other cities like Kaohsiung and neighboring Pingtung, around 1500 soldiers were deployed, for a similar task of clearing the roads and draining floodwater, and to ensure the city is back to its form.
After Gaemi, the strongest typhoon in July, Krathon has impacted badly on Taiwan.
